Fifth Week of Lent: No More Pretending

Let’s be honest, sometimes during Lent, it’s easy to “look” like we’re doing the right things… but inside, nothing is really changing.

This Fifth Week of Lent is a wake-up call: God sees beyond the surface.

You can post scriptures, attend programmes, serve in church… and still be struggling silently with the same habits, the same distractions, the same distance from God. And that’s exactly where God wants to meet you, not in perfection, but in truth.

This week is about dropping the act.

God is not asking you to be impressive.
He’s asking you to be real.

Real about:

  • The things pulling you away from Him
  • The habits you know you need to let go of
  • The areas where you’ve been spiritually inconsistent

Because real change doesn’t start with pretending, it starts with honesty.

Here’s the challenge this week:
Instead of adding more “religious activities,” try this:

  • Have one honest conversation with God (no filters, no big grammar, just you)
  • Reduce one distraction that steals your time (social media, excessive scrolling, etc.)
  • Do one thing you’ve been postponing spiritually (prayer, confession, forgiveness)

God isn’t tired of you.
He’s waiting for you to stop hiding.

Key reminder:
You don’t need to fix everything before coming to God.
You come as you are, and He begins the work.

This week, choose authenticity over appearance.
That’s where real growth begins.
