Second Week of Lent: Listen to Him

As we journey deeper into Lent, the Second Week invites us to pause and climb the mountain with Jesus.

The Gospel of this week presents the Transfiguration, a powerful moment where Christ reveals His glory to Peter, James, and John. In that sacred encounter, the voice of the Father declares: “This is my beloved Son… listen to Him.”

Lent is not only about sacrifice. It is about transformation.

The disciples witnessed Christ’s glory, but they could not remain on the mountain. They had to come down and continue the mission. In the same way, our prayer, fasting, and almsgiving are not ends in themselves; they are meant to transform our hearts so that we can serve more faithfully.

For core members, this week is a call to:

  • Create a quiet space to truly listen to God.
  • Surrender distractions that drown out His voice.
  • Trust Him even when the path ahead seems uncertain.
  • Allow Christ to shape our attitudes, words, and leadership.

Listening to Jesus requires humility. It requires obedience. It requires trust.

This week, let us ask ourselves:

  • Am I making space to hear God in prayer?
  • Do my actions reflect the One I claim to follow?
  • Am I allowing Christ to transform me from within?

May this Second Week of Lent renew our commitment to walk closely with Jesus, not only in moments of spiritual consolation, but also in the daily mission of serving others.

Let us listen. Let us follow. Let us be transformed.
